Your Personal Data Rights
Last updated: 28 June 2026
This page summarises the rights you have over the personal data Wider Cable (Wider Wire & Cable Co., Limited) holds about you, and how to exercise them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, which is the full, authoritative description of how we handle your data, and our Cookie Notice.
What data we hold
The v1 website is a product catalogue and enquiry service. The personal data we hold is limited to what you give us — mainly quote, contact and OEM enquiries and newsletter sign-ups — plus standard analytics and security data (see the Cookie Notice). We do not run member accounts, a shopping cart, or checkout.
Do we sell or share your data?
No. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural ("targeted") advertising. Analytics cookies load only with your consent. If this ever changes — for example if we run advertising in future — we will provide a clear opt-out and update this page and our Privacy Policy first.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, California, or Canada), you have some or all of these rights:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data, subject to legal limits.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Restrict or object — ask us to pause or stop certain processing.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (such as the newsletter or analytics cookies), withdraw it at any time.
- Opt out of sale/sharing/targeted advertising — although, as above, we do not currently do any of these.
- No discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
How to exercise your rights
Email steven@widercable.com with the right you want to exercise. To help us respond, please include:
- your name and the email address you used with us;
- your company name (if you contacted us as a business); and
- a short description of your request.
We may need to verify your identity before we act. We will respond within the time required by the applicable law (generally within 30 days; up to 45 days for California requests, where an extension applies). There is no charge for a reasonable request, and you may use an authorised agent where the law allows.
