Most "custom" cable is a standard reel with a different label. Genuinely custom Ethernet means the cross-section itself is specified to your requirement — and that only works when the manufacturer controls every stage, because a change to the conductor gauge changes the insulation, which changes the lay, which changes the diameter, which changes the jacket.

Wider Cable has manufactured Ethernet cable since 2005, from bare copper through to the finished, tested reel, across our Dongguan headquarters in Guangdong, China and our second facility in Hưng Yên, Vietnam. Raw-material-to-finished control is the reason we can quote a construction rather than a part number.

Supply-chain resilience. Two facilities in two countries, China and Vietnam, on the same process control. For buyers weighing tariff exposure and single-country risk, that is a structural answer rather than a promise.

A construction that does not exist off the shelf. A diameter limit, a jacket the specification insists on, a gauge chosen for a PoE run rather than for a catalogue. How to get a useful quote first time

• State the electrical requirement as a channel, not a category: longest run, PoE budget, bundle size, and the environment around it. That is what actually sets the gauge and the shielding.
• Send the schedule, not a total. Quantities per length, per colour, per construction.
• Name the certification the project requires, so it is prepared with the shipment rather than chased after it.
• Say where the cable ends up. A plant floor, a data centre, a retail box and a bundled device are four different products, even at the same category.
• Attach the constraint that is non-negotiable. Diameter, jacket compound, fire class, colour — whichever one cannot move, tell us first.

Certification and testing

Every cable is Fluke-tested before it ships, and the results go with the order. Across the range we hold UL, c(UL), ETL, CPR, RoHS, REACH, CE, SGS, ISO and TÜV, attached to the constructions that genuinely carry them. Where a requested construction would need a certification it does not hold, we say so at quotation.

Common questions

Can you manufacture to our drawing?

Yes — build to print is the normal route. If a line in the drawing will cause a problem in manufacture or on site, we raise it at quotation rather than after the first shipment.

Can you match cable we already buy?

Send a sample. We reverse-engineer the construction, tell you what we can match exactly and what we would change, and quote on that basis.

Can production run from Vietnam rather than China?

We operate facilities in both. Tell us the sourcing requirement with the enquiry and we will confirm what we can supply from where.

Do you supply under our own brand?

Yes. Private label covers the cable printing, the assembly, the packaging and the carton.
